The Jaguar E-Pace fun styling, surprisingly smart

The Jaguar E-PACE, the crossover equivalent of the British automaker’s F-type sports car, is set to take the joy of driving to a new level with proprietary and innovative technologies that make it a smarter and more fuel-efficient drive, providing greater comfort and driving reliability.

The updated sporty compact SUV emanates performance vibes and promoting an upscale lifestyle, fitted with state-of-the-art 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine, which offers a cleaner and more efficient drive.

This E-PACE completes the 0-100km/h sprint in 8.2 seconds and like its siblings, features the same collection of advanced technologies found across the rest of the Ingenium engine family. This includes a twin scroll turbocharger, continuously variable valve lift and variable cam timing that work to enhance power and efficiency as well as the drivability of the car. The new engine is also equipped with particulate filters to make it even cleaner.

Among the new updates for the E-PACE is Jaguar’s Smart Settings – a self-learning technology which studies the driver’s habits and anticipates their needs to make driving more pleasurable and convenient.

The Smart Settings kicks in when the driver approaches the car. The vehicle recognises the driver via the key fob or the smartphone and then adjusts the seat, climate and infotainment system based on the driver’s preference.

The Intelligent Phone Reminder function in the Smart Settings will also tell the driver if they forget their smartphones, while the Predictive Call List learns patterns of phone use to cue up popular contacts at the appropriate time.

In the event of a collision, six airbags and two ISOFIX points protect occupants while a pedestrian airbag reduces injury to others.

As Jaguar’s first compact SUV, the updated E- PACE features a sporty exterior and an interior design that raises the bar for compact SUVs, with its rich, stylish visual effects. The soft, high-quality materials used throughout the cabin are the first ‘handshake’ with the customer, while the charming British detail design leaves a lasting impression.

Apart from achieving strong sales in a highly competitive segment and winning a string of awards, the E-PACE has set a record in the Guinness Book of Records for the furthest barrel roll in a production vehicle.

The E-PACE is available in 200PS powertrain and comes in two exterior metallic colours; Yulong White and Firenze Red.  It is priced at RM403,216.67 (applicable only to Peninsular Malaysia; excluding road tax and insurance). The price stated is inclusive of 50% Sales Tax waiver provided under the economic stimulus plan, Penjana.
