Shaping leaders of the future through mentoring

More and more women are joining the tech industry every day. Companies, no longer comfortable with the status quo, begin to realize the great benefits of having a diverse workforce, and start to provide equal opportunities to people of all walks of life.

This is a pivotal and exciting time for women in tech, a historically male-dominated industry. However, there are many remaining obstacles women face in the workforce that hinder their progress – this includes a lack of role models, limited opportunities for advancement, and pervasive gender bias. 

As a woman in tech, Pia Broadley, Head of APAC for Dropbox understands these challenges. A big advocate of mentorship and a mentor herself, Pia believes this is essential in helping young women in STEM unlock opportunities and rise to become future leaders in the tech industry. 

In a conversation with #biztechasia Pia talks about the important role which women can play in organizations, how they can inspire innovation and why mentoring is essential to helping women thrive in tech. The passionate leader also spoke about her role at DropBox, her passion for diversity, equity and inclusion and what the initiatives she’s championing in this area on both a personal and professional level.
